RHODE ISLAND VETERANS & FAMILIES in COMMITTEE
Mission Statement:
The mission of the Rhode Island VFW Veterans & Families in Crisis Committee within the Rhode Island VFW, is to strive to do our best to support veterans in crisis in Rhode Island, ensuring their successful transition from homelessness to self-sufficiency and a fulfilling and productive life.
We are dedicated to providing sensible, comprehensive, compassionate, and sustainable solutions that address the changing and unique challenges faced by veterans & their families. Our committee strives to create a community where every veteran is given access to safe and affordable housing, healthcare, employment opportunities, and essential support services from their physical health to mental health.
Through coordination with local government agencies, non-profit organizations, businesses, and the local community, we hope to raise awareness about the struggle of homeless veterans and advocate for policies that prioritize their needs. We work constantly to eliminate the barriers that prevent homeless veterans from reclaiming their lives and reintegrating into society.
We wish for our mission to extend beyond immediate assistance whenever possible, as we are committed to finding solutions to long-term support, mentoring, and resources to ensure the continued stability and well-being of veterans. We believe that every homeless veteran and those around them deserve the opportunity to rebuild their lives with dignity and regain a sense of belonging, purpose, and hope.
Together, with dedication, compassion, and a community, we strive to dismantle and minimize veteran homelessness in Rhode Island, honoring the sacrifices they made in service to our country and ensuring they receive the support they so rightfully deserve.
